 Christmas Giving at CAM

Holiday giving is an individual decision and Cypress Assistance Ministries would like to offer some possibilities for your Christmas giving.

Cold and hard as it is, money is still the best donation! Our families have a variety of needs and we can provide everything they need for the holiday for about $175.00 for a family of 4. Please make checks to CAM. Donations of goods should be back to the ministry, 11202 Huffmeister, Houston, TX 77065 by Friday, Dec. 16th.

 

All basic food items are needed, but especially:

Frozen hams or turkeys (10-12 lbs) 
Canned sweet potatoes
Assorted pastas and spaghetti sauce
Jelly
Canned Meats
Stuffing
Gravy mix
Boxed potatoes
Coffee and Tea

Each CAM client is given a toiletry bag for Christmas:

 Four pack of toilet tissue           One hair shampoo
One roll paper towel                  Two bars bath soap
One dishwashing liquid              Two deodorants
One laundry detergent              One toothpaste

It is very helpful to us if you can put these items together in a brown paper bag so they are ready to be given out.

 


Gift Certificates preferably from Wal Mart in $20.00 increments are wonderful donations that can be used for teen gifts, meat and groceries and gasoline.

 

 

General Toy Donations are due by Friday, Dec. 16th. 

Toys should be new and unwrapped.  We do appreciate gift wrap, tape and bows so the families can wrap the gifts themselves.  We will need lots of bikes in all sizes (pre-assembled, please).

Gift Donations for Teens are especially needed!  Bicycles,  hand-held video games, basketballs, footballs, Wal-mart gift cards, current DVD movies, wallets, jewelry, purses, shaving kits and watches are great for older children.

 

 Baking Baskets for Moms
Use your imagination to create a "baking gift basket"! You could include sugar, flour, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, canned milk, chocolate chips, etc. You could also include a recipe to go with the ingredients, a cookie sheet, a spatula, etc. Wrapping these items in cellophane is also an attractive idea.
